Description

“Smart Factory” and “Industry 4.0” are terms in current use in the current landscape. But do we really know what they mean? What technologies are included and applied in the two definitions?

The 2-hour course will include a roundup of technical descriptions and application examples with the aim of providing an initial introduction of technologies applied in the automotive and aerospace fields, to give participants an initial level of awareness and stimulate interest in learning more about the specific topics that will be covered: applications of robotics, digital twin, and virtual/augmented reality to design and track manufacturing processes; artificial intelligence to improve product quality and simplify operations; additive manufacturing to print 3D components with complex geometries and performance materials; the new perspectives 5.0 that include new work patterns and human-machine interaction.

The course is co-erogued with the support of the NODES - Northwest Digital and Sustainable project and resources from the PNRR of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. The topics covered, dedicated to understanding the newest technologies that are being disseminated and applied in the automotive and aerospace fields, are in line with the objectives of Spoke1. It is part of the training path regarding new technologies applicable for the automotive and aerospace industrial fields: the main technological aspects that drive the digital transformation that allows factories to become smart and flexible will be covered.

The course is dedicated to students, teachers, businesses and professionals who want to learn about and subsequently deepen their understanding of the issues of digitization of production processes in the two important industries, including through the NODES training program.

Macro Topics

As part of Industry 4.0, several innovative technologies have been introduced in the automotive and aerospace industries that have revolutionized manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, quality, and safety. This course aims to provide a quick but focused overview of the advanced technologies involved in the transformation of the automotive and aerospace industry through a series of descriptions and examples of applications and/or case studies.
