CIM4.0 Competence Center
The Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 – CIM4.0 – is one of the eight nationally recognized competence centers with high specialization, promoted by the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), now the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. It is recognized as a center of excellence in the digital transformation of companies, focusing on the dissemination of Industry 4.0 technologies and skills.

Established by the Polytechnic and the University of Turin, supported as founding members by 21 major Italian and international private companies, and qualified by key industrial players as activity partners, CIM4.0 assists companies in their journey towards technological, process, and product maturity, increasing their digital and sustainable competitiveness.

What we do
We provide services to companies to support them in their digital and green transition processes.
The consortium’s activities are organized into four business areas: Digital Factory Pilot Line, Additive Manufacturing Pilot Line, Learning Hub, and Innovation & Venture Lab.
Thanks to the internal expertise of the team and the resources provided by the partners, CIM4.0 offers companies assets and services such as test before invest, proof of concept development, technology maturity assessment, demo & test, prototyping, training, consulting, and funding for innovation projects.
PILOT LINES: DIGITAL FACTORY AND ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Thanks to access to the two pilot lines, Digital Factory and Additive Manufacturing, it is possible to develop new product concepts, prototypes, test and experiment with technologies and processes in environments that represent real operational scenarios.
EDUCATION & Training
Upskilling and reskilling of human capital through a rich catalog of customizable on-demand courses. The flagship of our training program is the CIM4.0 Academy, designed for entrepreneurs, managers, technical area leaders, and freelancers, aiming to transfer cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary skills on Industry 4.0 topics. This comprehensive advanced training program provides the necessary tools to lead and manage the digital transformation of companies.
Project funding
We support companies in the development of Industry 4.0 projects through the publication of public calls, funding opportunities, and research projects open to large, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as startups operating nationwide. To date, more than 33 projects have been funded, thanks to not only financial support but also the expertise provided by the Competence Center’s teams.
Open Innovation Advisory
Our role is also to guide companies towards a sustainable innovation process that aligns with the demands of new markets, providing them with an open and hyper-connected ecosystem, qualified partnerships, and customized service dashboards, which can be funded through national and European grants.
