Description

The logistics sector is a strategic resource for the competitiveness of enterprises and the territory. On the cost of FMCG product, logistics impacts with a weight ranging from 10% to 15% on average. This sector must now respond to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution with Supply Chain 4.0. The question to which the proposed training course aims to provide answers is:

What changes do 4.0 technologies bring to the supply chain?

Indeed, the fourth industrial revolution with the introduction of new technologies (from Big Data Analytics to IoT, cloud-based platforms to autonomous robots, etc.) acts on several dimensions such as:

1) visibility and control of the operational status of the process in real time, even in geographically distant locations;
2) interconnection of all resources and people involved in the processes, for greater process integration and performance;
3) autonomous operations by people, equipment, and transportation means that can be informed and guided with minimal notice time.
4) accurate analytical forecasts for evaluating supply, production, delivery, inventory, and cost trends.

This means reducing physical barriers and making every process streamlined, fast and linear. Thanks to the cloud and IoT, Big data and Artificial Intelligence every element in the supply chain or network whether manufacturer supplier or customer, every warehouse or depot located in different locations can easily communicate with the others, just as the various players in the value chain can synchronize in the best possible way.

Supply Chain 4.0 will reduce the difficulties of conducting remote activities and related waste and knows no territorial boundaries. Every aspect of distribution and inventory is improved, making the Supply Chain efficient and performant. With new technologies, it is possible to coordinate the manufacturer with the warehouse, further enable e-Commerce, physical stores and all deliveries, both to individuals and retailers.

In an increasingly selective and competitive becoming, training and expertise in these aspects become key to finding a fulfilling job and/or retraining professionally.
