At the end of June, the Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 (CIM4.0) competence center presented its strategic lines to the press, companies, and the entire Piedmont business and industrial community. CIM4.0 will be the strategic and operational support for manufacturing companies oriented to the digitalization of industrial processes in the perspective of Industry 4.0 (from design to production, from R&D to Supply chain, from security to Blockchain). It will be based in Turin, within the facilities of the Polytechnic ( in Corso Settembrini 178) but will address the entire Italian business world.

There will be two technological directions that will characterize CIM4.0: Additive Manufacturing (from concept design to product certification) and Technologies for the Digital Factory Starting in September, the first calls for training and research projects will be published, in line with the defined priorities, while the first pilot lines referring to Additive Manufacturing and the Digital Factory will be activated by the end of the year. Subsequent pilot lines will be launched in the laboratories to be established in the adjacent TNE area.

Vertical competencies, technological opportunities, and international industrial vision represent important assets of entrepreneurial culture from which CIM4.0 intends to start in order to respond concretely and innovatively, through the activation of
pilot lines for manufacturing, centers for technological experimentation, and publication of calls for research and training projects, to the needs expressed by national industrial supply chains.
