A moment dedicated to businesses, with a focus on SMEs, on the topic of metal additive manufacturing. More than a hundred entrepreneurs, R&D managers, and representatives of companies investing in additive technologies gathered on Friday, November 8, at the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan to participate in the first leg of the A&T Fair roadshow promoted in collaboration with the Piedmont Competence Center.
A morning characterized by a comparison between large and small companies committed to compete in global markets by investing in additive technologies and specific skills. A roadmap that allowed not only to understand the transversality of this technology but to evaluate possible experiential connections between large and small Italian manufacturing companies. In this direction, the role of CIM 4.0 is strategic both in terms of representation and especially from the point of view of technology transfer, dissemination of skills and specialization related to technologically advanced production cycles of training and 4.0 culture of companies.
“Additive manufacturing intended for the production of metal parts is the reference technological trajectory of the CIM 4.0 Competence Center, and the solutions that will be developed,” explained CIM 4.0 President Prof. Luca Iuliano, “will be made available to all P.M.I.’s operating in the country. The Nov. 8 event, thanks to the skillful hand of the organizers, made it possible to introduce more than 100 companies to the potential of additive manufacturing present in the DNA of CIM 4.0, which derives from more than a decade of experience of the parter companies and the Polytechnic University of Turin through its IAM@PoliTo Interdepartmental Center. Experiences and expertise that will be shared at the three-day A&T event in Turin Feb. 12-14.”
“The first leg of this tour dedicated to new industrial manufacturing technologies promoted by A&T,” said Fair CEO Luciano Malgaroli, “was a great success because we were able to bring together the needs and experiences of large and small and medium-sized companies in the field of metal additive manufacturing, highlighting industry needs and expectations and the role of connector and facilitator in technology transfer played by the Competence Center of Piedmont, which promoted this important event with us. The topics analyzed and networking opportunities will be explored in depth with B2B workshops and technology exhibits during the three-day event to be held Feb. 12-14, 2020 at the Oval Lingotto in Turin.”
